Stepping Into the Identity That Unlocks Your Next Level

Updated: Feb 7

Dear friends,

In this email I’m doing a deep dive on identity. See it as a mini training because it’s a slight bit longer!

Identity is almost a buzz word but I think it genuinely is one of the most important concepts in manifestation.

Many years ago, Spirit began to impress upon me the idea of Destiny. I saw that destiny was inextricably linked to identity and to what we experience here in this reality.

But when many talk about identity, it often seems superficial. What does it mean, for example, to embody the identity of someone who makes $20k months? Gobbledygook!

The truth is that you can never understand or craft your identity from the perspective of money.

Money is a result of the identity.

Let me give you a personal example.

Hopefully it’s no secret to you that most of my personal net worth has been accumulated as a result of senior corporate roles in management (business) consulting. I was a leadership & career progression coach for many years because I became so good at landing big roles with big incomes, I started helping others.

I came to understand that every new role that I landed was a new identity: Senior Associate/Executive, Senior Manager, Director, Chief of Staff and many others.

Those roles required me to perform certain tasks and have responsibility for particular outcomes and people.

They required unique skills and accumulated experience.

What is identity (really)?

And this is how I want you to view identity. Identity is a role that you play that comes with the following 5 things:

  • Actions (tasks you need to perform),

  • Responsibilities (outcomes you are willing to take accountability for and people you are willing to take care of),

  • Skills (your unique ability to perform tasks to a high level)

  • Self concept/image (how you see yourself)

  • Value (what value is being created and managed in the eyes of others)

  • ...and of course rewards (money, recognition, status)

Identity has very little to do with personality when it comes to manifesting.

And self image is only ONE component, and I’d argue that it’s not even the most important one. All these components taken together shift your identity which is another way of saying that they shift your frequency.

I also want to note that an identity shift is not at all about more action. It’s different action.

When I embody a new identity, I also leave one behind.

When I become a Director I no longer do the work of a senior manager. I leave those actions alone (acknowledging there might be an uncomfortable transition).

What comes with your chosen identity

When I would teach my clients how to prepare for and therefore manifest each new role, notice that the money associated with the role was already there. It came WITH the identity as a package deal. They didn’t try to embody someone who would earn 6 figures directly, they would embody the role of a VP, for example and the salary just came with it.

This is incredibly important to understand.

I also want to give some insight into what it meant for ME to embody all these roles. I didn’t embody them after I got promoted but BEFORE. And it’s because I did that, that I was offered these roles in the first place. In practice that meant taking on additional tasks and responsibilities before I was paid to do so.

It meant ME giving the presentation or closing the sale instead of hiding behind someone else. It meant solving a problem myself instead of escalating it.

It meant seeing my boss as my peer and interacting with them accordingly.

Some of these things were subtle mindset shifts and others were concrete practical shifts. You need both.

So how might that apply to you in your personal circumstances? Consider answering the following questions.

  • What role do you have to step into in order to achieve your financial goals?

  • Do you need to elevate your level of contribution by becoming a leader in your industry?

  • Do you need to take on additional responsibility in some way, particularly if you’ve been avoiding it?

  • How can you increase your impact and the perceived value of what you create / exchange?

  • Is there anything you can learn from those in your industry who have already achieved what you would like to?

Discover your manifesting archetype

Finally, I’ve created a new resource to help you identify your manifestation archetype. As I continue to develop my concept of GroundedMagic™ which is how we blend together 3D and 5D principles for manifestation, I see that most of us have an unbalanced approached to how we manifest. It will be available to the public soon, but I wanted to share it with you first!

If you are at all curious about whether you are a somatic, practical, spiritual, emotional or mental manifestor, just click on the link. You will learn exactly how to both balance and leverage your archetype to increase your success with manifesting.

As always, feel free to reply and let me know your thoughts or questions

With love
