What if…(now hear me out).

What if it gets to be simple?

Nothing is EASY but it sure as hell could be a lot simpler couldn’t it?

Alignment creates simplicity.

Another great strategy for getting in alignment is spending time with others who are clearly aligned and living their purpose.

I’m an extremely pragmatic priestess.

Sometimes I don’t feel “woo” enough for the witches and too woo for my corporate/ business world.

My rituals are simple. I also know when to use common sense and logic.

I use logic way more than rituals which is also a symptom of being claircognizant.

Thought I’d share and see if anyone feels similarly.

I met Source on my birthday a couple of years back and it was a group of little children. I was forever changed by that experience. Source is the inner child. And we are watching them grow up before our eyes.

I think I need to talk more about my perspectives on Source consciousness

Living a spiritual lifestyle is like preventative medicine. Magic is like emergency treatment.

If we are always fixing problems through spirituality and magic it’s because we have not yet mastered to prevent them.

Emotional, financial, physical mastery are all part of spiritual development.

While not all problems can be prevented, spirituality gives us an anchor in the midst of chaos.

Alignment feels like things clicking into place

Normalise starting over.

You always take with you what you’ve learned from before.

Starting again is like arriving at the airport for a new adventure.

There is nothing but joy in that.

PSA: You don’t need to do “everything right” in order to find alignment.

I love the idea of step by step processes. I find satisfaction in the idea that things can be simple - I’m highly idealistic. But the truth is, life is messy. I am messy.

Finding alignment can feel messy. Like a whole bunch of trial and error. Days of despair followed days of gratitude. It all works, it all gets you there somehow, in ways we don’t truly understand.

There are no magic formulas that work for everyone but we can all start here:

By desiring alignment.

Desiring alignment is the one consistent “practice” I’ve had in my spiritual journey.

And desire is the source of everything.

When I say alignment, what exactly am

I aligning to?

I’m not aligning to my dream life necessarily, I’m aligning to my DESTINY.

Destiny is an interesting thing.

It encompasses who I planned to become, what I planned to experience and what I planned to express.

I’m aligning to the free will of my divine Self every time I tap into my highest purpose.

And my purpose evolves as I do.

My destiny isn’t necessarily a straight line and neither is alignment.

I’ve spent nearly 5 years in a liminal space career wise. That’s a long time to be neither where you were nor where you are meant to be.

Alignment is on the horizon.

I’ve never resonated particularly well with the language of “spirit guides”. I believe in them and work with those who do, but it’s not for MY personal practice.

My practice centres around my Ori, which is the Yoruba concept of the higher self & destiny (to over simplify a complex concept).

I also resonate heavily with Source and the idea of the Collective Un/Consciousness.

This is where I tap in to get my insight and where I feel I am always connected.

SOMETIMES resistance can mean misalignment

But resistance and discipline also create growth. If you’ve ever lifted heavy in the gym, you know what I mean.

Knowing the difference is what’s key.

Destiny work requires that I hold space for  something that most people don’t want to admit.

We are not all the same.

I want to share more about my spiritual practice because I think some people can get discouraged that they aren’t doing enough.

I have a philosophical and lazy approach to spirituality. I decided as a child that it should be easy even though my mother had me up at 5am every day praying and fasting twice weekly. 😩

I don’t do that today.

A typical day involves saying thank you to my Ori (higher self) when I wake up in the morning.

Throughout the day I try to stay as conscious as I can.

I am careful with what I say, do or consume. This is the most important part of my practice.

If things get really rough I will do a silent meditation, I may light a candle or I may do some invocations / prayers.

That’s it.

Because if a ritual has more than 2 steps or 2 ingredients I’m likely not doing it 🤣

I love reading and learning about rituals and I like to take them apart to understand WHY they work.

I then apply the underlying principles to my life…

because … laziness. (Or what I like to call efficiency).

I’d love to hear about how other people practice!

Is prayer out of fashion?

Is it all spells now?

I believe prayer is still very powerful - although can be dangerous if done from a disempowered place.

I still believe in prayer.

I’ve seen so many creators talk about the difference in engagement on their posts between say tik tok and IG, and for me as a spiritualist, it’s a perfect example of the importance of place.

We talk a lot about divine timing but not about divine place.

Both are important.

The aligned place for you is where your people are. (And I don’t mean your “target audience”)

Your destiny is like this:

You chose a house to live in before you were born. You decided the structure and the location.

But you didn’t decide what the interior design would be.

And you didn’t decide whether or not to do a loft conversion or extend the kitchen.

Those things are up to you to decide on this side of incarnation.

Many don’t believe in destiny or purpose.

I was like that. I was fully on the “manifest anything” train.

As long as I work hard, surely the sky is the limit.

But life has taught me different lessons.

And as I research more ancient wisdom particularly with an African and eastern lens, I see that we have always acknowledged the role of destiny in our lives.

Being able to just do “anything” if you believe or work hard.. yeah that’s a new concept.

You have a destiny and aligning to it is good

The focus on astrology and other destiny practices is going to increase.

It’s a natural counterbalance to the law of attraction and the disillusionment people have with it.

It’s also very common for interest in spirituality to go up in economic downturns.

This doesn’t mean one philosophy is right and the other is wrong. They all have their place and truth lies in the nuance.

But this is just a trend I’m seeing.

We want to know why we are here and we want to know why we are fucked up.

I also happen to believe that some people have more strict destinies than others.

Some people came here to just to enjoy and experience. Some people came here on a mission, and they deliberately set up booby traps to ensure that they didn’t veer off the mission once they incarnated.

This destiny stuff is definitely not a one size fits all thing.

But if you have a strict destiny you will know, because you are the one who got caught shoplifting when all your friends were doing it too 🤣

In Yoruba spirituality, we believe a portion of your destiny in connected to your ancestral lineage.

For example, my husband is a musician, his dad is a musician, his great grandad, his brothers. It’s really beautiful to see it.

It’s worth sitting down and asking what your parents and grandparents were known for and seeing if any of that is reflected in you.

This isn’t just career, it’s community roles and personality traits etc

I love doing ancestral gift mapping. So many aha moments.

There is such a fine line between imagination and Spirit. I’ve never fully been able to find the right words for this but there is a reason that so much truth is hidden in stories.

It’s like Spirit dwells in the realm of the Story…

With the potential for so many realities, who is to say that what is made up isn’t also real.

Are we creating stories or are we glimpsing other realities and being inspired?

You can know what alignment looks like for you & still be afraid to step into it.

This was me for the longest time.

3 different psychics had to tell me in different ways that I was ignoring my calling. Which of course I knew.

I kept saying I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t ready to be out of the spiritual closet. I was sitting on my gifts, unable to help people. 😭

Knowing what to do is only step 1. The deconditioning required to get to the next step can be daunting.

Now I’m here & unapologetic 💅🏾

I used to dream about Beyoncé a lot. I’m not a stan by any stretch so I could never understand why she would pop up so often.

When I started doing shadow work and acknowledging that I too wanted to be admired and lauded, (and removed any shame I had around that), she stopped showing up in the dreamscape.

I want to talk about grief.

Not the grief of losing a loved one, but the grief of unmet expectations.

The grief of life not turning out how I once imagined it would.

How I assumed it would.

Because I don’t hear anyone talking about this grief and whether you ever get used to it.

Or whether you just find different ways to pretend that it’s not really there.

>>>

The resonance on this post is just 🥹

The number 1 solution for grieving a life not lived, is finding the life that was truly meant for you.

This has helped me immensely. I’ve found new dreams, ones tailormade for me

But I’ve had to decondition from societal expectations. I’ve had to let go of “prestige”.

But I don’t feel I’ve lost anything.

I’ve gained myself. My true self. My divine destiny.

The reason I am so passionate about destiny alignment is that I’ve seen so many people try to manifest someone else’s dream and then give up on life from the sheer disappointment.

Imagine knowing someone is such a talented baker and see them throw it all away to become a business coach?

Or someone who is made to be a corporate CEO give up their 9-5 to become an “entrepreneur” and do Amazon drop shipping.

To say my heart is utterly broken would be an understatement of the highest order >>

I see so much potential thrown away DAILY trying to chase a cookie cutter dream.

Is your dream your own or was it subconsciously planted there by Instagram & Pinterest?

You might not need six figures. You might just want peace. And your peace might come from going back to the village you were born in and becoming a teacher.

Did you forget how much you love teaching?

These are the real conversations I’m having with people.

We’ve gone so far astray from what would be for our highest good. 😢

I’ve always been afraid to call myself a writer.

But writing has saved my life.

Whether it’s journalling, poetry, song writing, inconsistently blogging… even here on threads.

It’s all been consistently inconsistent, if that isn’t oxymoronic.

I literally don’t know where I’d be without it.

I like to see myself as a spiritual chiropractor, getting you back in alignment with your divine self and destiny.

But I don’t have any fancy viral reels to show y’all

What is it about giving up / hitting rock bottom that’s so incredibly powerful?

I mean I know what it is. But the momentum you get from just hitting the floor is unparalleled.

Some people stumble into destiny alignment through trial and error or happenstance.

It isn’t always strategy.

We experience reality based on our personal spiritual algorithm

Failure often precedes alignment.

But after the Tower moment comes the Star.

Multi hyphenates and multi passionate souls often struggle the most with getting in alignment.

Everything feels good to us. And we don’t like having to choose.

But Alignment isn’t about choosing, it’s finding the higher order / golden thread that weaves it all together.

The billionaires intuitively know something that most won’t admit.

You can’t fix the planet. We can only fix ourselves and raise our own consciousness.

And many of them have chosen an unconscious life.

I don’t know what to do with Easter anymore.

It used to mean so much. I “gave my life to the Lord” on Easter weekend as a nearly 7 year old.

It’s an important part of my spiritual journey and story for sure.

But it also feels like an old sweater I once loved, that no longer fits.

And that I don’t want to wear or see again

Decolonising my spirituality has been hard.

My practice is eclectic but I’ve been drawn back to my ancestral practices increasingly.

They are not untainted by colonialism either, but my ancient ancestors have been helping me understand the roots and principles of Ifa / Yoruba as it’s currently practiced.

It’s really Yoruba that appointed me as a Destiny Worker. We have a robust, complex & nuanced understanding of Destiny that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

Abdicating responsibility for your life is a one way ticket to exploitation and being taken advantage of.

You won’t find alignment without self responsibility

My journey towards destiny alignment (which never ends by the way) has been accelerated by understanding myself through various lenses

Myers Briggs

Astrology

Numerology

360 feedback (yes I’m serious)

Human design

Ancestral research

Shadow work

Divination

Trial and error

Business failures

Self inquiry / introspection

There are so many ways to understand the character you came to play.

I use a number of these in my work with clients as well but you can do much of this on your own too.

There are areas of my life that feel pretty sorted and in full alignment. And there are others that feel messier.

Purpose / Career / Finances feel good.

Relationships / childhood trauma / family feel on the way but harder.

It’s not all or nothing. You increase alignment as you grow.

I’ve redefined low vibration as meaning low power. When we feel powerless, to me that is low vibration. It has nothing to do with an emotion being positive.

You always have free will either to align or not.
